NRTG Certificates: Everything you need to know

Got questions related to certificates? You're in the right place!

Updated 1 week ago

Will I receive a certificate?

Once you have completed any of our courses or programs — from our 4-hour MicroCourses to our 5-week Extended Programs — and met the certification requirements, you will receive an NRTG Certificate of Completion. Your certificate will display:

  • Your name, as it is in our system

  • The title of the course or program you completed

  • The date the certificate was achieved

What are the certificate requirements?

Most NRTG courses are certified based on attendance only. During every class, the instructor will record attendance and certificates will be issued to all present students shortly after the course is complete. However, there are some exceptions to this process — a small number of our courses have additional requirements that must be met in order to obtain your certificate.

For example, our popular Land Guardian Program requires passing grades in three areas in order to obtain your certificate:

  1. Attendance

  2. Participation

  3. Assignments

If you have questions related to the certification requirements for a specific course, please reach out to our team at info@nrtraininggroup.com to find out more.

When will I receive my certificate?

Certificates are processed as soon as our team receives the relevant class data. For most courses, this is simply the class attendance list which means certificates can be processed within 1-2 business days of course completion. In cases where assignments need to be marked and/or further certification requirements need to be assessed, it may take up to 14 days to receive your certificate.

If you need your certificate urgently, e.g. for a job application or field project, let our team know and we will do everything possible to expedite the process.

What can I do with my certificate?

The NRTG Certificate of Completion is widely recognized by environmental industry professionals, particularly across Canada. Be sure to include your course and completion date on your resume, and share your certificate to your LinkedIn network.

NRTG Certificates that are accredited include:

Whilst most of our courses do not provide transferable credits recognized by post-secondary institutions, many professional bodies count our training courses as 'professional development hours' which are often required to renew your registration. Please check directly with your professional body whether they accept NRTG courses and programs as relevant and valid professional development.

My certificate has incorrect details, what should I do?

When you receive your certificate, please check the details carefully — particularly the spelling of your name. The name is taken directly from our booking system, but we understand mistakes can happen when inputting details at the time of registration.

If any details on your certificate are not accurate, please contact our team (info@nrtraininggroup.com) immediately. We will be happy to rectify the issue right away.

I can't find my certificate, can I get a new one?

All certificates are issued via the NRTG website and can be accessed in your account. Simply log-in to view your completed courses and associated certificates. If your certificate is not visible in your NRTG account, you may need to try logging in with an alternative email — many students take courses via their work email address, so the certificate will remain linked to that account.

If you have tried all applicable email addresses and cannot locate your certificate, reach out to the team and we'll help locate the correct file and ensure it's attached to your NRTG account.

Please note, if you obtained your NRTG Certificate of Completion prior to 2022, it is unlikely to be available in your NRTG account. In these cases, the team will need to manually locate and attach your certificate so it can be made available online.
